Beast Power

Beast Power sends the direct-snap runner off tackle behind two of the three blocking backs. One kicks out the edge defender, one leads through the lane and the third cuts off backside pursuit.

The call

PositionResponsibility
Left TEcut off the backside end.
Left tackleblock the backside down lineman and stop pursuit through the B gap.
Left guardsecure the nose with the center.
Centersecure the nose with the left guard.
Right guarddown block the playside tackle with the right tackle.
Right tacklesecure the playside tackle with the right guard.
Right TEclimb inside the edge to the strong-side linebacker.
2-backcut off the backside linebacker.
4-backkick out the first defender outside the right TE, here the end.
3-backlead inside the 4-back's kickout and take the first linebacker in the lane.
1-backtake the shotgun snap, press the inside hip of the 4-back's kickout and run behind the 3-back.

Run it with

  • WedgeSame direct snap, but the ball hits inside before the defense can widen to the off-tackle lane.
  • SweepSame strong-side numbers, taken outside when the edge collapses to stop Power.
