GT Counter Post-Wheel is Lincoln Riley's signature play-action deep shot. GT Counter pulling action sucks second-level linebackers and safeties into the box while the H-back runs a wheel route into the deep boundary void vacated behind the outside post clearout.

The call

| Left tackle | pull and wrap through the line to sell the lead block. |
| Center | block back on the backside defensive tackle. |
| Right guard | block down on the playside defensive tackle. |
| Right tackle | base block the defensive end. |
| R | take a counter jab step, cross in front of Q on a hard mesh fake, and burst into the right C-gap to sell the run. |
| Q | ride the mesh fake, set up in the pocket, and target H on the boundary wheel. |
| X | stem vertically to 10 yards to drive the corner deep, then break inside on a skinny post to clear the boundary safety. |
| H | release outside into the boundary flat and wheel up the open sideline behind X's post clearout. |
| Y | shallow crossing route underneath to hold intermediate defenders. |
| Z | 12-yard backside dig route across the intermediate middle. |
