The blocker in a combination who supplies movement on the down defender before working to the second-level linebacker based on flow and scheme rules.

In this front and flow, the drive man (T) joins hip-to-hip with the post man (G) to supply vertical movement on the down defender, climbing as the Mike linebacker (M) fills to the tackle's side while the post man anchors the first level.

The drive man joins the post man on the down defender to supply displacement while keeping his eyes on the second level. While the drive man is typically the blocker who peels off to take the filling linebacker, the second-level release remains conditional on scheme and leverage: if the linebacker crosses the post man's face into the adjacent gap, the post man comes off while the drive man secures the down defender.
