Wing-T Buck sweep

Wing-T Buck Sweep sends the halfback to the wing behind two pulling guards. The playside guard kicks out the edge, the backside guard leads through the alley, and the fullback's Trap fake holds the defense inside.

The call

Playside guardopen pull, gain depth on the first two steps, kick out the end man on the line (E).
Backside guardpull deeper than the playside guard and lead up through the alley, blocking the first wrong jersey. Drawn with an arrow rather than a block mark because against this front every box defender is already accounted for, so the target is whoever fills.
Halfbackcrossover through the heels of the fullback, read the playside guard's kick-out, then a sharp cut up through the alley behind the backside guard.
Fullbackside step to clear the midline, fake the trap to hold the linebackers, fill the backside A gap.
Quarterbackreverse pivot off the midline, hand to the halfback crossing, then sprint to the line faking the waggle.

Run it with

  • TrapSame snap picture. When the defense chases the sweep, the fullback keeps the ball he was faking.
  • WaggleSame snap picture again, thrown. The halfback runs the sweep and the quarterback boots away from it.
