Wing-T Jet Sweep puts the wing in full-speed motion for a handoff around the edge. Against the drawn four-man front, the playside tackle pins inside, the guard pulls outside, and the halfback leads ahead of the ball.

| Position | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| W | motion across the formation before the snap and take the handoff on the move, around the edge. He is already at full speed when he gets it, which is the whole point of the play. Because he has to cross to get the ball, the play runs away from the side he lined up on; it goes either direction depending on where he starts. |
| HB | lead block. He gets outside ahead of the ball and takes the first man to show on the edge, here the outside linebacker. |
| FB | fake the handoff, then block a linebacker. |
| Playside tackle | pin, against a three or four man front. He blocks down on the man inside him and stays there; nothing on this side chases outside, because the pull is what clears the edge. Against any other front it is gap, down, backer, the same rule as the backside. |
| Playside guard | pull, against a three or four man front. He comes around behind the down block and takes the end man on the line of scrimmage. Against any other front it is gap, down, backer, the same rule as the backside. |
| Center | gap. He blocks back on the down lineman in the backside gap. |
| Backside guard | backer. No gap threat and nobody covering him, so he climbs to the linebacker. |
| Backside tackle | backer. The tight end has the end man, so he climbs to the outside linebacker. |
| Tight end | down. He takes the end man on the line inside-out. |
| Split end | block the corner in front of the ball. |
| QB | give it on the move and carry out the fake away from the ball. The timing is the play; a slow exchange kills the edge. |
