Air Raid 28 Stretch runs from Ace 2x2 with extreme 2.5 to 3-foot line splits. The offensive line executes 45-degree lateral reach blocks across the five-man front. The right tackle executes a reach block to overcome the 5-technique defensive end's outside shade, either hooking his outside shoulder to bounce the edge or washing him to the sideline while the back presses the tackle's hip and makes a decisive one-cut read.
Part of the Stretch play concept.
| Position | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| F | aim for the outside hip of the right tackle. Read the right tackle's reach block on the edge defender: bounce outside if he hooks the edge, plant and cut downhill in the seam if the tackle washes him wide, or wind back if the second level over-pursues. |
| QB | open playside, seat the ball cleanly to F on his stretch track, and bootleg weak to hold the backside defensive end. |
| RT | reach block on the 5-technique defensive end. Take a 45-degree lateral bucket step to overcome his outside leverage: if he pinches or hesitates, hook his outside shoulder to seal the perimeter; if he widens to protect contain, wash him laterally toward the sideline. |
| RG | reach block on the 3-technique defensive tackle, taking a 45-degree lateral step to seal him inside or drive him playside. |
| C | lateral reach step on 1-technique nose, then climb to seal the Mike linebacker (M). |
| LG | lateral bucket/scoop step on 1-technique nose, overtaking him from the center. |
| LT | step playside into the B-gap, then hinge back to seal the backside defensive end. |
| X | stalk block cornerback (C). |
| H | stalk block apex overhang defender ($). |
| Y | stalk block apex overhang defender ($). |
| Z | stalk block cornerback (C). |
