Speed Option

Speed Option goes straight to the edge. The quarterback attacks the pitch key with a back outside and behind him, then keeps or pitches off that defender. There is no handoff phase, which is the difference between Speed Option and Zone Read or a triple option.

Spread Option

Speed Option: Speed Option right from shotgun with an H-back. Both live paths are drawn: Q attacks the unblocked end while R keeps pitch relationship outside. Y arcs past the pitch key to the next defender.
